Café de L'Horloge

I only had a cappuccino, but I had a lovely time on the terrace. I go there regularly when I'm in Chambéry.

Refusing a simple carafe of water in the middle of a heatwave gives an irresponsible and unwelcoming image of the establishment, especially during periods of intense heat; such a refusal lacks common sense and consideration for customers.

For the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival), I understand it was busy and that the café wanted to avoid people just coming to drink water by not offering carafes. However: - It's very expensive (compared to other places in Chambéry) - Several people in the group ordered glasses of water that never arrived - The waitress rudely forced us to split the bill into four equal parts when we wanted to pay separately - The drinks weren't cold enough, lacking ice. In total, the group paid around €100. I would have expected better service from the establishment. There are plenty of other, much nicer places to have a drink in Chambéry. I don't plan on going back.

I went to the café, but I found the music way too loud; we couldn't hear ourselves talk, so we didn't order anything.

We tried the apple and mango sorbets and the raspberry and coconut ice creams; they were of very high quality 😍

Nice place, well located

Welcome and service: friendly, and their band 👎👎 Beers: OK. Mixed platter of onions and mozzarella sticks: 6 measly pieces, barely thawed, as pale as Snow White without the seven dwarfs, but at €16 including tax. The price is undoubtedly motivated by the ramekin... sorry, the bowl... of ketchup-type sauce. Keep walking.

Basic coffee, but at 8:30 PM, oh wait, no, they don't serve coffee anymore... there are specific times for drinking it, apparently! And thanks for the welcome, no smile, nothing! Okay, the days are long, but at least a smile is free!

Great atmosphere, very friendly staff, chocolate eggs, water. Very good service. Excellent coffee 👍👌 I recommend it to tourists!
